Parent-Toddler

Brush in Hand
Age: 2 years – 3 1/2 years (with a grown-up!)

Mondays: 10:00 am – 11:00 am
6 wk. session: September 24 – November 5
* no class 10/8; 11/12

Fridays: 10:00 am – 11:00 am
6 wk. session: September 28 – November 2

It’s the process, not the product! That’s the theme of this class for parents and toddlers. Students will be introduced to a variety of art materials and experiences from markers and oil pastels, glue sticks and sparkle glue, to watercolor, collage and painting at easels. Each class is theme based and includes a story and drawing time in student’s own sketchbook. Parent participation and a willingness to experiment is encouraged. Come make art together!

Preschool / Kindergarten

Little Picassos
Age: 3 1/2 yrs. – Kindergarten

Using a variety of media, including painting, collage, and drawing, this class encourages children to enjoy the creative process of making art. Students will learn basic elements of art along with the works of a variety of artists.

Elementary & Middle

Afterschool Artists
Age: 1st – 5th grade

Mondays: 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
6 wk. session: September 24 – November 5

Fridays: 4:30 pm – 5:30 PM
6 wk. session: September 28 – November 2

Using the work of both well-known and lesser known artists, students will explore a variety of art forms and techniques, including collage, drawing, painting and mask making. Elements of art will be closely examined.

Van Goghs
Age: Advanced 4th – 8th grade

Mondays: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
6 wk. session: September 24 - November 5
* no class 10/8; 11/12

A further exploration of paint, pencil, watercolor and collage. With plenty of individual instruction, students are encouraged to discover and build upon their own unique styles. Basic art concepts will be reviewed weekly.

 

Saturday Drawing &/or Painting Class!

For Elementary & Middle Students

An introduction to the basics of following a drawing from idea in your head to painting on the paper. We will explore student interests with individual instruction. Students who prefer drawing only do not have to paint and may choose to work only with pencil. Please note, to provide more personalized instruction, drawing/painting class sizes are limited. Fee: $20 per class.
* Students do not have to sign up for full 6 week session, but advance notice of attendance is requested.
Saturdays: 1:00 pm– 2:00 pm (begins November 3)

Summer Art Camp Schedule

Drawing, painting, creating outdoor sculptures…Summer Art Camp at Miss Jill’s Artist Studio offers week-long art fun for preschoolers, kindergarteners, elementary and middle school students.  Also, for those artists who love writing, please check out the Dancing Pencil Saturday Poetry Workshop (at the bottom of the schedule).

Young artists will sample a little bit from everything on the artist’s palette: painting, watercolor, collage, drawing and mask making.  For inspiration, we will draw upon our own imaginations, as well as the work of some famous and not-so famous artists.

Each student will create an artist’s journal of sketches, doodles, drawing and plans, and by week’s end have a portfolio of work from which to choose one piece for the annual End-of-Summer Art Show!

  2. Fill out the registration form found here and mail it with your $50 deposit (balance due on first day of class) to: Jill Crammond, 34 Delmar Place, Delmar, NY 12054.   Fee for a 5-day camp is $105.    Students are encouraged to bring a snack and a drink, as we take a short break each day.

Dancing Pencil Art & Poetry

Age:        All poets and artists welcome!

Date:  Saturday, July 28: 10 am – 12 pm   Fee:  $20

Dancing Pencil poets use all types of artistry, including painting & collage to explore the process of writing poetry.   Weather permitting, we may meet at Five Rivers Nature Center to experience nature writing first hand.   This workshop is designed to challenge students’ imaginations and improve their reading and writing skills.
